Embody the Moment

About The Practitioner

I have always known that I wanted to be a massage therapist. I can remember when I was growing up sitting behind my mothers' back massaging her shoulders and brushing her hair. I would often have my cousins ask me to walk on their back and give them back massages. They would tell me how I had magical hands. As I grew older and had children this energy shifted as I became a mother. I made it a ritual every night to massage my babies. It would soothe their tummies and relax them for bed. I know it had a profound and positive effect on their physical and emotional development and to this day they still ask for and receive massage frequently.

Fast forward to 2013 were I enrolled in the year long massage therapy program at Irene's Myomassology Institute in Southfield. Here I felt at home. I was finally embracing what I now feel is one of my life purposes on this Earth, to help people heal through healthy touch.  The year flew by with ease and I graduated in June of 2014.

While at Irene's I studied anatomy, physiology, pathology and elective courses that included elder massage, Thai-Ayurvedic, polarity, lymph drainage, CranioSacral Therapy, hot stones, reflexology, myofascial anatomy trains and musculoskeletal dysfunction interpretation and assessment.  I have also completed courses in CranioSacral Therapy (CST1, CST2, SER1, SER2) from the Upledger Institute.

I believe that the body can heal itself and it is through this belief that I provide solutions to my clients about their physical stresses that help encourage the body to return to its natural healing rhythm.
